I've always been the lead guitarist. Every band I've ever been in and almost every jam in which I've ever participated I've been the lead player. Electric guitar, that is. Lately though, I've been playing my acoustic--as in almost exclusively. Maybe it's a summer thang but I do so love to grab the Martin, sit my ass in a chair on the balcony and just...well...strum and pick away. It's become a nightly occurence. Playing an acoustic is such an organic experience--no amps, cords, fx or gadgetry--just you and a good-old fashioned analog instrument. Despite a background in metal and alt-noise/experimental chopsy/technical lead playing I've always suspected that I might someday morph into a bluegrassy type of acoustic dude.
Hmmm....maybe that time is coming sooner than I'd suspected. Too bad I can't grow a beard.
In the words of Strongbad "Oh meedly meedly me."
